Seminar on Proposal - Literarure by Mrs. Agung Rwa ( Translation) 

Well, well, well, one step closer to get the title of bachelor of English literature, before that is need to did the last examination of this subject, and hereby I enclosed you my task... let us see it !!!! 

this is the example of my analysis with entitled The Translation Analysis of Interjection from English to Indonesian found in The Jungle Book novel 

Discussion                     :

a.     Data 1

SL : "Augrh!" said Father Wolf (p.g 7)

TL : "Augrh!" kata Serigala Ayah (p.g 8)   

                                   

From the example above, its seen English interjection Aurgh is also translated to Indonesia interjection Aurgh. It happened because of both SL (Source Language) and TL (Target Language) have close equivalent meaning. The translation is a word for word translation with aimed to transfer the massage by keeping a similar meaning, there is no change in the form grammatically in the translation process. It called literal translation.

The meaning of this interjection determined by the context can be interpreted or defined as an attracting someone’s attention or order feeling. It is shown that Father Wolf break the atmosphere between Mother Wolf and her children, Father Wolf command to ready for hunting. While based on the meaning above the interjections Augrh can be included in a conative interjection.

b.     Data 2

SL : "How beautiful are the noble children! How large are their eyes! And so young too! Indeed,… (p.g 8)

TL : "Waduh, betapa tampannya anank-anak yang mulia ini. Betapa besar matanya! Dan masih begitu muda! Jelas,…. (p.g 9)

        The translator adds element Waduh to the meaning of interjection to make an equivalent of natural expression to conveys the meaning, so the readers can grab the meaning correctly. The addition does not damage the meaning of TL text. its translation process called the addition of elements strategy.

        Waduh in literary it interjection is from the Javanese  language used to show amazing feeling and the sentence from data 1 used by Tabaqui to make parent Wolf worry because of he compliment their children in front of them which they believe it will bring bad luck, from the context of situation Tabaqui need parents attention for him, so Its interjection can be classified as a conative interjection.
